Overview
WHY ENCRYPT DATA?
New legislation driven by the increase in data theft is placing extreme pressure on companies to encrypt their data. Both congress and state governments are requiring companies to protect personal information and disclose any breaches of information to those it affects. Companies are required to demonstrate data security to reduce liability. Encryption of information at the database and storage layers is critical for companies wishing to minimize their risk and exposure to malicious electronic attack, media theft and new legislative requirements.
DATA ENCRYPTION WITH NO IMPACT ON DATA WAREHOUSE PERFORMANCE
DATAllegro's encrypted data warehouse appliances contain a separate, dedicated encryption engine, which sits between the database and the disk storage used by each server. The encryption engine has been carefully optimized to provide I/O throughput at close to the capacity of each storage device. Since all data is decrypted before the database software starts processing it, all queries work the same as before, with no significant impact on performance. All data stored by the system including work files is encrypted using a 192-bit 3DES algorithm.
A CRITICAL PIECE OF YOUR OVERALL SECURITY SOLUTION
When combined with third-party solutions for encryption of in-transit data, user authentication and auditing, DATAllegro's encrypted data warehouse appliances allow you to meet all current data security standards and legislation.
ENCRYPTION TECHNOLOGY THAT FITS WITHIN YOUR BUDGET
DATAllegro's encrypted data warehouse appliances offer the lowest cost data encryption solution on the market. The Single Rack Appliance (SRA) gives customers a complete data warehouse in a single rack with no single point of failure, encryption and a backup solution for 12TB of user data capacity. Alternative solutions can cost in the millions and significantly impact data warehouse performance.
ENCRYPTION THAT SCALES TO GROW AT THE SPEED OF BUSINESS
DATAllegro's encrypted data warehouse appliances offer a flexible open architecture, allowing customers to scale out capacity and performance as needed. The encrypted Multi Rack Appliance (MRA) allows multiple data storage racks to be combined with a single control rack that scales from terabytes to petabytes at a fraction of the cost of alternate solutions.
